High performance polishing machine for granite slabs
The polishing machines for granite NP2200RS offer the highest productivity levels for the machines available now on the market where the polishing quality is involved. NP2200RS is available in versions up to 22 heads, with single or double bridge, thanks to the exclusive Twin Bridge Technology. The last generation electronic system allows an easy and intuitive use by the operator.
The base of the NP2200RS is obtained from the NC processing of a steel monobloc. Thanks to the design of shapes on the computer, the base ensures the absence of vibrations, better quality of polishing, absence of noise and a long life.
interchangeable plates
In machines such as these, designed to withstand extremely high production rhythms, the phenomenon of wear, caused by the sliding of the conveyor belt on the table, may constitute a potential danger to the perfect efficiency of the polishing machines. To prevent this from occurring, SIMEC equips its granite machines with thick single-block working surfaces, on which the special interchangeable plates are installed.
Drive unit
The drive unit which transfers motion to the conveyor belt is activated by an external gearmotor controlled by an inverter. The machine is supplied with a specific belt for granite, with anti-slip groove. The multilayer and high resistant belt can easily be tightened manually, whenever necessary.
Spindle-carrying bridges
The spindle-carrying beam is a single piece in electro-welded steel, at the centre of which the housings for the spindles are milled. This SIMEC solution was created in order to provide maximum equilibrium to the abrasive heads and to prevent any vibrations of the spindle-carrying beam. In machines such as these, in which the reversal movements of the bridges are extremely quick, perfect stability and precise equilibrium of the masses are indispensable elements for ensuring production reliability and quality.
Movements of the bridge
The movement of the bridge is provided by 2 motors controlled by an inverter which transfer motion to the pinions by means of the amply-sized shaft. The blocking system between gearmotor and transmission consists of conical expanding lock rings. The sliding of the beam takes place on roller blocks in oil bath protected by stainless steel guards with labyrinth seal.
Centralised lubrication
The centralised lubrication system makes it possible to automatically lubricate the heads. The system draws the grease from the tank located at the rear of the machine and distributes it to all the points for which the machine has been prepared.
Spindles
The spindles of NP RX evo polishing line have been engineered taking special care to the most delicate structural and kinematic aspects which are subject to wear. Thanks to the minimum lifting of the Testarossa head with respect to the slab surface, the working speed is quicker and the edge polishing is better. It is worthwhile pointing out the new removable protection covers, made of ABS, which allow the access to the transmission shaft for executing ordinary operations of inspection and maintenance.
Double mobile bridge version
Besides the version with one bridge, SIMEC manufactures NP evo polishing machines in the version with double mobile and independent bridge with the exclusive Twin Bridge technology. Thanks to this solution which allows to adjust independently the translation speed of the two mobile bridges, it is possible to optimize the work of the tools in the initial phase of roughing, increasing the polishing performance. It is also possible, when necessary, to synchronize both bridges so that they move as only one.
Marble version
The NP 2200 RX, with spindles equipped with specific components for marble, becomes a high production polishing machine even for this material with all the automation advantages of the NP evo series. The polishing machines for granite can work on marble with no problem using specific optional accessories as marble plates of diameter 580 mm. instead of tangential/satellite heads or special abrasive-carrying plates of diameter 480 mm. to be mounted on the granite heads.
Control panel
The standard machine is equipped with a touch-screen control panel, with user friendly interface, which the operator can interact in an extremely intuitive way by using clear screens which represent the machine or a portion of it. All the work parameters of the machine can be consulted in real time, in an alphanumeric or graphic form.
Operator interface
The software, specifically developed by SIMEC for the purpose, offers a high degree of supervision, adjustment and programming of the process. The possibility of creating connections on Ethernet networks, the use of common USB keys for saving and loading data and the possibility of interfacing with management solutions for production control are some of the characteristics which make this optional a strategic choice.
Power panel
The power panel complete with conditioner houses the inverter and latest generation PLC. The combination of such a high number of inverters and PLC was adopted so as to separate the various management functions and thus optimize the speed of all the movements of the machine, eliminating idle times.
Commands and controls
In the NP 2200 RX polishing machines, all commands are intuitive and in easy reach of the operator. The machine has control panels, associated with each spindle, for regulating working pressure. The raised location of the panels facilitates reading and use by the operator. An additional panel for managing the beam and the belt is situated on the two shoulders of the machine. The NP 2200 RX polishing machines are equipped with several safety systems which block the heads and the bridge in the event of failure or if the sliding doors are opened.
Cleaning unit
This special accessory cleans the slab on the top after the polishing phase. The working height is adjustable semi-automatically by means of a push button on the polishing machine. The unit is prearranged to be mounted on a motorized roller conveyor.

Automatic distribution of plastic protection cord
The automatic applicator of polymer dots BT1 is the most ecological and economical way to protect the polished surface of the slabs when they are placed and handled “in packs”. The BT1 is placed at the exit of the polishing lines and puts dots or lines of thermoplastic polymer on the polished surface of the slabs. The system can be both alternative and complementary to the traditional polyethylene film, according to the market requests.
