Orbital polishing machines for granite or marble slabs
The oscillation of the bridge of a traditional polishing machine that moves several spindles at the same time represents a limit especially for irregular slabs. For this reason, SIMEC presents to the polishing market the ORBITAL series featuring an oscillating and independent movement of each spindle. As a matter of fact, in the ORBITAL polishing machines there is no longer a single oscillating bridge but several bridges on which the spindles move individually making movements on different axes, similar to the ones performed by a manual processing and above all perfectly reaching the edge of the most irregular slabs without having to lift the other heads and in this way tools totally spend more time on the material.
The ORBITAL generation machines are characterized by an oscillating movement, which is given by the synergy of the transverse movement of the bridges (Y axis), together with the longitudinal movement of the spindles - bridges (X axis). In ORBITAL polishers, in fact there is no longer a single oscillating bridge but different bridges on which the spindles move individually, making movements on several axes, similar to those performed during manual processing with the so-called "manettone" that replicates an Orbital movement, used with affirmation also in the mirror polish of bodyworks.
Spindles
The ORBITAL spindles have been designed taking care of performance and reliability according to their virtually continuous working on the material. All the components, as motor, shaft and toothed belt transmission system have been carefully sized and engineered to support the heaviest workloads. Let’s mention the use of removable covers made in ABS that allow the access to the transmission shaft for the ordinary operations of inspection and maintenance.
Electronics
The flexibility offered by the solution with independent spindles of the ORBITAL polishing machines requires management and control power; this is the reason why SIMEC engineers have equipped the machine with high level hardware and software components enabling to check and modify, directly from the colour touch screen control panel of the machine, all the main working parameters as: belt speed, translation speed, excursion and slowing down at the edge of the slab for each spindle, re-polishing areas, etc. allowing the operator to choose the most suitable working strategies according to the type of material.
